So summer is about half over, and I’m wishing it were mid-May again. I miss walking down the streets and not always understanding the conversations that were being had…and missing the moments I actually WOULD understand. I believe that my week in Paris had to be one of the fastest weeks in my life. It was such an incredible experience; and now that I’ve had it, I can’t wait to travel some more. Plans are in the making for a trip to Berlin, Weimar, and Prague next summer, so my hopes are high that I’m going to be making yet another trip out of the country again soon.
Other than missing the start of my summer, I’ve spent day and night at my summer job working in a foundry. If you’ve ever done it, you know it’s not pleasant…especially when you spend anywhere between 65-80 hours a week there! I’m pretty much sleeping and working the rest of the summer, so one can only imagine how ready I am to start the new season with the new University Singers cast! I’ve only had brief contact with some of the other members, so they will all be a sight for sore eyes come mid-August.

Oh summer isn’t really summer when you spend most of it working, sleeping, and out of contact with friends. It’s all the busy exhausting work that helps you appreciate a summer with no work, no sleep, and plenty of interaction with friends all hours of the day. I almost like summer the mostly for the reason of summer love, you know relationships that are found and made during the summer but sadly only last the summer. Yeah, I already have a girlfriends but I still like the thought of summer love.
I completely understand that whole job thing. Mine isn’t quite as bad as yours sounds, but close. 40 hours a week in a bike warehouse. I am definitely looking forward to the new season.
See you in August!
