…And I mean that in more than one way. Allow me to extrapolate. This weekend, the glee club had a choreography workshop with Linda McEachran, a new-comer to the Ball State University Singers list of guest choreographers. She was wonderful! Sunday we spent 8 hours together getting the foundation of each piece she was teaching, Moving Too Fast (from Last 5 Years) and Mr. Bojangles (originally from Fosse, but Linda did her own arrangement with some funk!). On Monday we reviewed, cleaned, and polished spots throughout both numbers before she left. Referring back to my title, the first line in Moving Too Fast is as written above; however, after about 10 minutes of rehearsing, the fire alarm goes off…how appropriate for such a song, no? Not knowing how long it was going to take, we scampered over to Pruis Hall where Lou, one of the amazing supervisors, allowed us to use their lobby until we could get back into MU123. Oh the frantic life of performers! Now that Linda has moved on, we must rack our brains and do our best to keep what she taught us and do it justice as she did a fine job with the group. As Dr. Carter has posted some pictures, I threw together a video clip of us after a few hours of rehearsing Moving Too Fast. Of course it’s not there yet, but hopefully you can get the big picture. If you would like to view the video, please check out my Ball State blog where I have posted it. Enjoy and let us know what you think!
