Rock & Rollin’ Out the Red! That was the theme for University Singers this year at the Homecoming parade on Saturday. The parade closed out a fun-filled week of cornhole, relay races, bed races, lip-syncing contests, talent searches, royalty coronations…you get the idea. All of it leads up to the Ashley Award being presented to the top group. You add up points throughout the week by participating in the activities and are awarded more if you win. This year, University Singers were out in full force, determined to reclaim the award that we fell short from last year. If I’m not mistaken, we’ve been awarded the Ashely Award 5 of the past 7 years…so we wanted to keep that number climbing! Just to sum up the week, we had both Meghan and Kenny make the Homecoming Court, we won the Independent Category at Air Jam (here’s our show), we won best float in the Independent category and overall, Derek and I made it to the semi-finals in the cornhole competition, one of our relay race teams won their heat, and Joe Redman made it as a finalist in Talent Search. So, as you can see, we were cut-throat this year…and it shows!!
