That’s right. That’s the countdown for Spectacular 44. In 8 days, the curtain rises on my final weekend of performing in Spectacular. In 9 days, the curtain will fall, and 4 seniors will say goodbye to this cast. Of course we all know this time will come eventually, but it just doesn’t feel like it’s that time; these past three years have just flown by and I’m not ready to part yet. Being a religious person, I feel a biblical quote is in store…”This too shall pass.” For a less-than-religious quote from the musical Avenue Q, “Everything in life is only for now.” I’m not ready for the memories to stop, but I know I have enough memories from this group to last a lifetime, and that’s more than enough for which to ask. All I can hope is that the Spectacular is just as good as what we’ve prepared it to be. I’ve never felt this ready for a performance, yet dread it at the same time…
