…pronounced “muh-zur-uh” by the locals, at least by Jan, our tour guide at Stone Hill Winery. It’s Sunday evening, and we’ve arrived safely back in Muncie after a grueling 10 1/2-hour bus ride home. Even after a good 4.5 hours of sleep last night, most of my time on the bus was spent catching shut-eye, only waking for breakfast and lunch at the appropriate times. I’ll just try to add to Dr. Carter’s photo album of what went down!
Day 1: We loaded the bus at 5pm Muncie time and headed out. Nothing too exciting today because it was a bus trip, but we did stop at a rest stop where some of us had a jam session. I just wish I had taken video…our random jam sessions always end in much laughter! Once we arrived at the hotel, we unloaded our bags and some of us hit the pool. We even did some choreographed diving! 7 of us surrounded the pool, Meghan counted us off, and we pas-de-bourréed, hitch kicked, barrel rolled, then cannonballed into the pool! What can I say, we are easily entertained…
Day 2: We pack the bus again and continue our journey to Branson. After a stop at Lambert’s Café for lunch (the home of the throwed rolls…literally), we finally arrive sometime after 2pm Missouri time and unloaded into the Tri-Lakes Center where the performances took place. The stage was huge! At least the size of Emens, if not bigger. After a quick sound check and run through, we were ready to hit the road and find the hotel. Pulling into the parking lot, we were suddenly transported back in time to the Medieval Ages, surrounded by castles and knights on horses. Each of the elevators were named Lancelot, Guinevere, and Excalibur. It was quite the experience to say the least. Below is a picture of the glee club seniors before our final rehearsal.
Days 3 & 4: Filled with a lots of time around high school show choirs. Coming from a non-competitive high school show choir, this was a new experience for me, and let me tell you, it was intense but friendly. It seemed like all the groups were the best of friends and supported the other groups 100%, which was very different from the high school marching band world I lived in during high school. When we weren’t working with Fame, we had free time. After the closing ceremonies on Saturday, we went aboard the Branson Belle and had dinner and a show. It was quite enjoyable, to say the least. Here are some pictures to close out our time in Branson!
