Guess who is coming out of retirement? That’s right…ME! Except I wasn’t offered millions of dollars to stay away…oh well! Anyway, after my plans for Australia fell through this summer, I had a nice discussion with the new director, Alan Alder, and by the end of our talk, I was signing a contract confirming my decision. Though I am extremely excited about coming back for a fourth year, the thought of it all is kind of weird since I ended last year with all my goodbyes, thinking that was going to be my farewell. Now I am just going to have to do all that over again at the conclusion of THIS season. But let’s not get TOO far ahead of ourselves…
It seems to be protocol to talk about our summer, so I will give a brief overview of mine. I began my summer with a trip to Germany and the Czech Republic with our former director, Dr. Carter, and several Ball State students. The bulk of my summer consisted of working for a friend of my father’s; I travelled around the midwest installing gym equipment…NOT exciting work. Then I finished my summer with a mission trip to Mexico from which I just returned. That was a last minute decision to go, but well worth it. We worked along side a group from Quebec; who would have guessed that I would be going to Mexico to utilize my French skills! Now I’m back home, preparing for a busy semester! Now on to business…
I am here to introduce myself, not as the dance captain like 2 years ago, not as the equipment manager like last year, but as the Show Production Head! This was actually decided just a few days ago after I joined. This position was yet to be decided upon, so after I talked to Mr. Alder and then the CM Jake Galloway, the position was gladly filled. Being such short notice, I’m afraid I can’t share any plans on how I expect to make this year amazing, but believe me, that will come in due time! As for now, I’m still relishing the fact I’m back with this amazing cast for a fourth year and spending that year, once again, around the production table. I look forward to seeing everyone in just one week’s time!
